2017 Fall Newsletter

The Fall 2017 Newsletter has been posted to the site.  Highlights of this issue include: superannuation retirement benefits and options, social security reminders for 2018, and a breakdown of the Beneficiary Designation form. We remember the late James E. Fahey, Jr., former Chairman of the Middlesex County Retirement Board, and talk to Senator Cindy Friedman about her legislative priorities.

Notification of Election of Fourth Member of the Middlesex County Retirement Board

The Middlesex County Retirement Board Advisory Council Subcommittee on Assessments and Investments, serving in its capacity as the Election Board, met on November 3, 2017.

After investigation, the Election Board determined that only one candidate, John Brown, had filed nomination papers containing the requisite number of signatures.

Pursuant to G.L. c. 34B, §19(h), we are pleased to announce that the Election Board declared said candidate to be Fourth elected member of the Middlesex County Retirement Board, for a three year term commencing January 1, 2018.

Regional Training Program Announced

The Middlesex County Retirement Board is pleased to announce it is hosting a regional training program, Your Public Pension and Social Security: What You and Your Family Need to Know, at the Pepperell Senior Center on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m..  This is the final training program in the 2017 series.  This free, two-hour regional meeting will provide MCRS members employed in the towns of Ashby, Pepperell, and Townsend with important information regarding your public employee retirement benefits and the basics of Social Security.

The Middlesex County Retirement Board is pleased to announce it is hosting a regional training program, Your Public Pension and Social Security: What You and Your Family Need to Know, at the Lincoln Council on Aging at Bemis Hall on Thursday, October 12, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m..  This is the fourth of five regional training programs that were planned this year.  This free, two-hour regional meeting will provide MCRS members employed in the towns of Lincoln, Sudbury, Wayland and Weston with important information regarding your public employee retirement benefits and the basics of Social Security.
