Regional Training Program Announced

The Middlesex County Retirement Board is pleased to announce it is hosting a regional training program, Your Public Pension and Social Security: What You and Your Family Need to Know, at The Bedford Town Hall Multi-Purpose Room in Bedford on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m..  This is the second of five regional training programs that are planned this year.  This free, two-hour regional meeting will provide MCRS members employed in the towns of Acton, Bedford, Boxborough, Carlisle, Hudson and Stow with important information regarding your public employee retirement benefits and the basics of Social Security.

Fire Lt. Joseph Kearns Elected to Board

On January 18, 2017,  Tewksbury Fire Lt. Joseph Kearns was sworn in as the Third Elected Member of the Middlesex County Retirement Board. PERAC Executive Director Joseph Connarton administered the oath of office.  See our Newsflash for more details.

Fall 2016 Newsletter

The Fall 2016 Newsletter has been posted to the site.  Highlights of this issue include: divorce and your retirement benefits; the proposed federal legislation that would repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision; the health insurance premium exclusion for public safety retirees and a social security update.  You will also read about regional meetings the System has hosted recently for members and trainings held for payroll specialists and human resources staff.
